being grateful

I feel compelled to write today. Not because I'm doing something different, but because it's the last day of school, beginning of summer...a transformation is happening. Throughout this week people have commented on the crazy chaos that has taken over their lives. Not to mention the crazy chaos going on in the gulf, middle east, the world in general. I decided to take a moment this morning and "Be". No noise, no beverage, just me with myself. Out of that came a flow of gratitude for life, love and the opportunity to be able to just "Be".
Life happens...
I just finished Gay Hendrickson's book "The Great Leap". He mentioned that life gives us a feather to re-direct us back to awareness or a two-ton truck. I like to call it the cosmic 2X4, but whatever gets you going in the right direction is your call. All I'm saying is be grateful...be aware of what your life can transform by just being.

Finally doing something different

I just found my blog I set up two years ago when we moved back to Austin for the last time. Thanks to an unsolicited friend I just met that moved here, opened a blog and is thriving. What an inspirational gypsy.
Recently, I have been mulling around about what I'm going to do when I grow up, aren't we all. Even the most successful people are asking the same question, you know who you are. My kids have already passed me on the pay scale as far as working goes. This time I wanted to do something other than work for the man, work for the money or do what everybody else thinks I should do. This time around, I want to do something for me, something I LOVE, and be able to make a living from. What is it? I'm still on the hike. Sometimes I have taken the easy trails and I have even gone off road a couple of times. It has all been a wonderful life experience of learning what I like and a little of "WTF". This time, I decided to take a queue from one of my wonderful mentors and friends that wrote about "doing something different" especially if you feel like you are in a funk. It really works!
Everyday, do something different, it's amazing how free your mind is and how much more you can create by just getting out of the monotonous chaos of a stay at home mom, which I have been for 15 years.
I realize I am exactly where I'm suppose to be at this time in my life. Being a mom has been the best gig I could have ever asked for, what a blessing. The universe has gifted me with many options and opportunities throughout my life. Which brings me to this blessed blog that fell into my lap after two years. With a quick update of my profile, I have finally done it. Not because of people telling me I should start a blog; or the fact that I had waited this long because I am extremely computer illiterate and can shut-down the best systems just by sitting in front of them (I have been told I have too much energy, so I should touch the ground, yes it works, but really?) The fact is that I needed to do something different, out of the norm. unexpected. You know what, it feels fantastic!
